Since 2014, River Doodles was one of the first breeders in California to breed Bernedoodles!

In addition to the health testing listed below, we also test each dog for a panel of breed specific genetic diseases. Please click on the Paw Print medallion to view the genetic test report that will be included in each puppy folder. Some dogs may have fewer tests completed because they were cleared for a specific disease through parentage.

Striving to make our Bernedoodles not only loving, home-raised companions, we make health and longevity a top priority. Therefore, after researching pedigrees and generations of health tested parents, we have imported our Bernese Mountain Dog girls from Europe as the foundation for our bernedoodles! Our first couple of girls, Tisza and Zala, came from a breeder of international champions in Hungary in 2014. Since then, we have imported many more of these beautiful girls! This breeder not only produces sought after champions, his dogs have long life spans, unlike the American Bernese which average 6-8 years of age! These thriving European girls combined with the great qualities and longer life span of a poodle make the Bernedoodles a family member that will be with you for many wonderful years to come. The excellent temperament and health qualities of River Doodles European Old World Bernedoodles® will be hard to match anywhere else!

Future Dam: Magdalene “Maggie”

Maggie is one of our beautiful European Old World Bernedoodle from beautiful Bailey and Chips. She is sweet, cuddly, affectionate and gentle. She sits on our feet while we are working and thinks she is a big lap dog. Maggie is sensitive to body language and does well with hand signals for training. She is patient with children and does well with other dogs. She tries to herd the cat and chickens and is even accepting of the family cockatiel. She is protective of the house from squirrels, rats, stray cats, and strangers, but is accepting of them if we are. She loves car rides and traveling. Maggie is just a sweetheart and a big love!
